(More customer reviews)I had lusted after this little baby for some time and finally bought it when I found a great deal on it. It makes the most amazing sandwiches, which you can custom-tailor to your tastes. I also used it for a rolled flank steak, stuffed with mushrooms and cut into thick slices. Each slice cooked perfectly at medium heat, although like all steaks, it requires a watchful eye to prevent overcooking.
My experience with vegetables was similarly good. Peppers, onions, eggplant slices all cook in minutes with good result. I have not tried chicken breasts, but from reading the other reviews, imagine that the results will be similar.
One negative: fish can be a tricky business on this grill. I cooked an ahi steak for only a few minutes and it was overdone. I bought a stovetop grill pan specifically for fish after that (well, I confess I do throw a little bacon on it too from time to time).
I am quite satisfied with this panini grill, and love my homemade paninis. I found that a sliced kaiser or hoagie roll works well, as well as thickly sliced Italian or sourdough bread. My favorite sandwich?: thickly sliced bread, olive tapenade, roasted red pepper slices and sliced fontina. Who said heaven isn't right here?

Börner Thin Julienne Vegetable Shredder Review

The safety grip shown in the illustration does NOT come with the shredder and must be purchased separately. Nor is there any other finger grip. The shredder does NOT have non-slip feet. I was not happy about these discrepancies. It does cut a nice julienne. I kept it, but it is dangerous to use without some sort of hand grip. So I ended up paying an extra $7 for the hand grip. Not happy, not pleased with this brand, and will replace this product as soon as Kuhn Rikon comes out with something comparable.

(More customer reviews)Well, I first ordered a cheap ... 250Watt meat grinder from Harbor Freight. It had a plastic worm gear, didn't work well at all, so it sits on my shelf. Then I got a hand operated meat grinder, and that turned out to be quite a lot of work. I like to grind my own burger and was still looking for a good meat grinder. I did own the Bosch mixer and noticed they made a meat grinder attachment (I bought the mixer after I bought my first two grinders). I have the 450 watt mixer. I figured I would try the meat grinder. I got the grinder and it was all metal, except for the tray on top and the push tube. Well, I diced my meat and got ready to grind some burger (I just don't trust supermarket stuff - too many recalls!). WOW! was I impressed -- this thing grinds like a demon! perfect hamburger. And, it ground up the meat as quickly as I could get it down the tube too...this is the one that I will keep and use for my burger grinding. The other two grinders that I own are going to go to Goodwill as a donation. Money well spent...

Called customer service and they were nice enough to offer us a replacement part for $20. Never have used the product and already need to invest more money. It was a gift so don't have the receipt. It tends to put a lot more air into the mix compared to other blenders so you need a bigger glass when you are ready to serve whatever you have mixed.
Don't drop the ice i a little at a time. Put it all in at once and then use the appropriate setting to mix the drink. In my first attempt with new new unit I dropped the ice in a little at a time and the blended drink froze up so quickly that the last pieces of ice didn't get chopped/blended into the drink.
Easy to clean using a little dish detergent and water (mix), bottle brush or the blade assembly can be removed if you have something that has gotten really stuck in the bottom of the container.

Cuisinart CBT-BG-1 Blade and Gasket Review

(More customer reviews)Chances are you are looking at this product because your PLASTIC blade housing has cracked on your $140 blender. Even the cheapest of blenders utilize stainless steel for this mechanism. Shame on Cuisinart for not recalling and redesigning this part to make it stronger. After purchasing, I called them directly, at the direction of the reseller when I inquired about a warranty for this replacement part. They said flatly that they don't warranty this part in any way. I am sure they know they have a problem and have decided not to fix it. Their decision will make people think twice about the perceived quality of Cuisinart for future purchases.

Cuisinart Mandolin Slicer Review

(More customer reviews)This mandoline slicer was a disappointment. It is very difficult to operate, especially when slicing tougher vegetables like butternut squash or even onions. It is very hard to keep the vegetables in place and you have to press down so hard to keep them from sliding off that it feels like you're about to break the thing in half. I'm sticking to knives and the food processor from now on.

(More customer reviews)The product cuts well and makes french fries pretty well. I bought this for cutting potatoes and all remarks are based on that use. The problem I had with it is the reverse end of the cutting blade... It's not flat to the slide bed when installed for normal (non-crinkle) cutting. This means that when you have made a cut and are sliding the food back up the ramp for the next cut (the back stroke), the bulged up crinkle blade grabs the food and grates a bit of it off adding a lot of drag. This would also make very thin slices impossible because they always have one side damaged by the curved crinkle blade. If you know someone with a bench vise and thick leather gloves the blade could probably be corrected. Always be careful when handling the blade for any reason, it is very sharp.
Another issue that might cause a problem for people cutting thick slices is the location of the knob that holds the main blade in place... dead center so your thick slices will run right into it as they are being cut. This increases the force you must use and damages your thick slices.
All in all I would not buy this product if I had this information in advance, no reviews where available when I ordered. I am a handy person and have corrected the first problem above and I think I can live with the second issue, so I will not be returning the item. I really expected better from Oneida, but you do get what you pay for in the end. The only mandolins I have ever used were restaurant grade and you can expect to pay at least $100 for one of those models. If you plan on using the slicer a lot, spend the money for a good, well-reviewed product.

I could kick myself cos' I didn't get it. This time I saw her Martha blue, and it's absolutely beautiful in person, after some "subtle" hints, my husband purchased it for me, and I couldn't be happier, it's super powerful. I've made many things with my mixer, but the best part is that it is gorgeous and I am happy every time I see it on my counter.

(More customer reviews)If I could I'd give it minus 10 stars. Magic Bullet is a terrific small appliance, I love it to death but it is NOT a juicer by any stretch of imagination. Maybe you'll manage to fix a quater of a cup of melon or papaya juice but don't even dream of it handling carrots or even cucumbers. The cylinder mesh insert will jump off the seats in one nanosecond, there is no filter or cutting mesh of any kind between the pusher and the blades when you try to push your veggies down; you, your counter and kitchen walls be in pulp up to here (red beats make splatter decor especially bright and colorful:-) , all veggies/fruit/salad leaves completely wasted.

(More customer reviews)This blender died after 4 months of light use. I never asked it to crush ice or do anything really strenuous. I only used it to blend smoothies and tofu desserts - so the toughest thing it ever had to handle was a couple of half-frozen berries. After two months the motor started to have that burned smell when I used it. After three months the plastic bottom part of the canister started to crack. At four months, the motor started making funny noises, it smelled terrible, and the crack on the canister widened so that liquid started to spill out when in use. All in all, this blender was a total waste of money and ended up in the trash. I will NEVER buy a Hamilton Beach product again.

Due to this it does not maintain a constant heat.I even bought a cheap aluminum pot and pan and it doesn't conduct heat any better. The range is a closed solid plate not the open rings. Despite other reviews, It doesn't maintain heat setting so you can never get to a full boil for water, or proper temperature for cooking meat.Probably best suited for warming,you can't do much more cooking than an egg or pancakes slowly. Aesthetically it is pleasing and would fit flawlessly in an updated kitchen. It is rounded and doesn't take up much space. The larger burner does hold a bigger pot but because the unit is smaller you really can't fit another cookware on the other burner if you do so. I would have done better by purchasing an electric skillet or spending the extra money for a chefs plate.

(More customer reviews)So, after 30 years, we needed a new blender. Hmmm. My wife and I hadn't a clue where to start nor what was out there. On my first two internet searches all I found were the two extremes: small fractional Hp motors or the ridiculously priced $400 to $500 unit.
And yes, of course we want to crush ice - who doesn't? I have enough engineering background to know that a 0.2 to 0.5 Hp motor is NOT going to crush ice. Finally, we found the KitchenAid models! Some were 0.9 Hp, which is more like it. The pitcher (I call it) was a larger diameter and a little squat - perfect design for better blending, not to mention storage.
We decided that two speeds just wasn't enough, 3 speeds would be borderline and we certainly didn't want anything ridiculous like 10 or 15 speeds. (That's what they do when the motor is underpowered to do the job.) We settled on the KitchenAid KSB465Wh 4-speed with 48 ounce jar and 0.9 Hp motor. The weight wasn't given but the appearance gave you the idea that the base was good and heavy - a prerequisite.
We've used it several times starting about a month ago - it's perfect. It's even better than the one that lasted 30 yrs. The pitcher is dishwasher safe, it has something they call "intelli-speed" which adjusts the horsepower as needed to deliver constant speed. This is something where most blenders fall short, you put something heavy in it and the motors just slows down. The base is good and heavy - hurray, no more tipping over. The ad doesn't mention this but you do NOT dissasemble the pitcher for cleaning! Another big plus.
By the way those $40 to $60 blenders don't work and don't last. This one is priced around $72 and you get what you pay for. A very solid unit with a decent motor and good features. And yes, it does a marvelous job grinding ice - a whole tray at a time. And, if you let it go for about 10 seconds you have ice "powder" - it's better than our ice shaver for snow cones.
Blending is far superior to our old blender. It digests even the tough stuff easily. We haven't yet really needed to use it but it has pulsed speeds for those really tough materials. I'd recommend THIS blender to anyone who doesn't need to grind nails.

(More customer reviews)I absolutely love this shredder/grater. I have it for couple weeks and it is doing exactly job, which I needed it to do. Suction is good too.
I have big KitchenAid food possessor and I use it for big jobs, but I needed something light-weighted that can quickly grate something like couple carrots. And it does a great job; it takes me no more than a minute to grate two huge carrots.
It does have a little problem - at the end small piece of leftover carrot comes out not grated, but for me it is not a big deal; I just cut it w/knife.
