(More customer reviews)This component is advertised to replace the existing cover on a Cuisinart DLC-8F Food Processor. It is the correct diameter, which may account for the claimed replacement capability. However, the cover has fingers behind the feed tube that interfere with rotating the cover into operating position. As received it cannot be used. But I'm an inventor, so modifying the cover to make it fit is no big deal. Unless you're handy and have the proper tools to fix it, don't order this cover. I have no way to know what models it will fit, so I can't suggest when it's a good buy.

Offers a good variety of slice thicknesses, plus juliennes; changeout is quick and easy. Storage box is a definite plus. Excellent value for the price. The best part? The blade is really sharp. The worst part? Yeah, the blade is really, really sharp. I find the holder is too awkward to use and actually sliced myself once in the first week because it went so much faster than I expected. Best way to get a stir fry or fajitas done and on the table in top speed, though.

Cuisinart SPB-456-2 Blender Blade and Gasket Review

(More customer reviews)This was a replacement for an original cutter blade that cracked after years of use. This part fit perfectly and restored like-new blending and chopping to my Cuisinart blender. It even came with the rubber gasket.
I'd recommend hand-washing the blender base and cutter blade, since the original one probably cracked due to the drying heat of my dishwasher. Just be careful, though, since this thing is really sharp!
Great replacement part to keep your blender working like new.
*** Update after 4 months of use ***
The cutter blade is having similar problems as my original Cuisinart blade - it's starting to get really tight in the shaft (huh, huh!) and doesn't spin as freely as when new. I think this is due to a couple of runs in my dishwasher. DON'T WASH THESE BLADES IN THE DISHWASHER - WASH THEM BY HAND FOR MUCH LONGER LIFE.

Hamilton Beach 72800 Change-a-Bowl Food Chopper Review

It is so good, in fact, that you need to be very careful when you first use it. It chops so well you may chop finer than you intended.
However, when you observe how it works, you will mourn all those wasted hours spent trying to chop vegetables just right for your recipe with dull knives and stupid hand choppers designed by people who never walked into a kitchen.
To chop up onions and peppers to simmer down for meatballs or a meat loaf, to make a salsa or relish just as smooth or chunky as you want, to "do that deed" with garlic cloves that we all hate to do but is so necessary, TO DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.
This is the tool we have been waiting for.
And the ability to use a permanent bowl included or those plastic 1.5 cup bowls for sale everywhere (and that we have in our cupboard already!)... No need to stop and wash out the bowl as we are doing several jobs. Well, what could be handier?
This is the one!

(More customer reviews)As others state the work bowl is well made but there seems to be some variance in the manufacturing of these bowls. In my case the top will need to be sanded as the size (diameter) is not to the tolerance of the original top piece as well as a small piece of the interlock at the top needs to be cut/removed in order for the lid to fully rotate onto and lock with the bowl. This is at the top of the interlock pin housing. If you are not up to these tasks of adoption you will be shooting in the dark as to the instant fitting and adaptability of this bowl. As I am a long time engineer and fix it guy this task is nothing more than an inconvenience but for others it could present a major problem.

Cuisinart DLC-041-1 Food Processor 1mm Ultra-thin Slicing Disc Review

(More customer reviews)Though I enjoy my Cuisinart food processor very much, and was a little too gung-ho when I first bought it as I purchased all the different blades and attachments, after several months of usage I can say that you probably don't need this 1mm blade. I use it to slice carrot, radishes, cucumbers, and peppers for salads but it does slice extremely thin and the 2mm is not much different. It is high quality and much overpriced and ultimately I will struggle over the life of the unit to get my money out of this one as there just are not that many times when you want razor thin food that doesn't turn to mush. The 2mm blade helps to keep the food more solid and provides more crunch. If you are a caterer and need to stretch food by cutting it ultra thin then this one's for you but average cooks can use the 2mm and be just fine. If anything I would recommend the larger slicing blades as they can be used for meats and stir-frys, while this one merely just sits on the shelf.

Oster 4093 Classic Beehive Blender, Chrome Review

(More customer reviews)I've burned through 3 other brands of blenders -- each time the plastic "spinner" in the motor base (which mates to a plastic spinner in the pitcher's base that turns the blade) broke. Finally we decided to try out the Oster "Classic" because it uses a metal shaft that fits directly into the pitcher's base to turn the blades rather than the plastic disks that all the newer blender designs seem to use. That does the trick. I make a lot of fruit smoothies using frozen fruit -- which can be pretty hard on blenders -- but so far the Oster Classic has been up to the task. I highly recommend it!

My Jack LaLane juicer finally wore out after 2.5 years of daily use. I was tempted to buy another - but I liked the way everything including the pulp catcher is all in one unit. So glad I got the Breville.
This thing is POWERFUL, especially compared to "Jack LaLanne". It is so powerful I usually don't even use the pusher except to cover the top so your ceiling doesn't get covered with stuff. Other reviewers have mentioned that tendency. What wasn't mentioned is that the reason it does that is because the motor is so beefy that stuff will shoot straight up.
When juicing soft stuff I immediately cover the top with my hand.
The design of this thing is absolutely first rate. Even down to the plug, which has a moulded loop so that it is easy to unplug and plug in! No tool is required to remove the basket, as in most other juicers. Breville uses a combo of ingenious design and magnets to hold it in place!
Ease of use and fit and finish is perfect.
Clean up is really a 2 minute operation and I don't even own a dishwasher. It will stain eventually, as every juicer I have ever owned does. Carrot juice would make a great dye :-)
The pulp on this juicer is a bit wetter than the Jack LaLanne. The "Jack" had a much larger basket and a much slower rotation. I believe that may account for it. But it isn't much wetter - just very slightly.
This juicer makes much smaller pieces of pulp though - and my experience so far has been that it gets just as much juice from a pound of carrots.
Bottom line - I can't imagine anyone not loving this unit.

KitchenAid KPFP850PM Pro Line Food Processor, Pearl Metallic Review

I recently had to buy another food processor and saw KitchenAid had the "Tim Taylor" version of my previous model. I am quite disappointed with it and don't think it is worth the $450 I paid.
It is massive! Eats up counter space.
The shredder disk only comes in a 4mm version which I don't like for grating carrots or other similar vegetables. It is too coarse. They also didn't include reversible disks so you could increase your shredding options as you can with its smaller counterpart model.
When using the chef's bowl and the shredding disk, the outer bowl gets dirty on the rim so you still have to wash it. When grating carrots this is not good! Carrots stain the plastic so you end up washing two bowls.
Large pieces of carrots get lodged between the disk and the cover so you have to open the cover and remove the food.
I haven't used it extensively but I have contacted Kitchenaid and expressed my dissatisfaction.
Bigger is not always better

Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro Juicer Review

(More customer reviews)You'd think it would be hard to mess up when designing an item that just juices halved citrus fruit, but they did. And how! There are three annoying features about this machine that interact to provide a supremely annoying user experience.
The first annoying feature about this juicer is that the pour spout juts out a mere 1/4 inch from the side of the machine. Since the machine is rounded and somewhat urn-shaped (fatter on top than on the bottom), you have very little space to get a glass or measuring cup near the body of the machine in order to catch the juice. Keep in mind that some measuring glasses can be rather thick, and you can easily see that this might be a bit of a problem.
Now for the other two problems. I should note that this machine has a decent amount of torque, and can indeed ream out a citrus fruit rather efficiently, leaving nothing but rind. The problem is the three little rubber feet on the bottom cannot stand up to the machine's torque. Push a fruit down on the top and the entire machine jerks to the side, whereupon the spout flinches away from its tiny area of proper juice-dispensing, and juice meets counter. You have to exert a considerable amount of force when pushing down the fruit just to get the thing to stay put. I had to use both hands to do this (one holding the lemon down, one pushing against the side of the machine, leaving none for the measuring cup). It's not an insignificant amount of force; you really have to brace your arms on the thing to keep it still.
Thus comes the third problem, which is the auto-reverse mechanism. About the second or third time you push down on the fruit and activate the machine, it goes the other way (clockwise instead of counterclockwise) in order to get more pulp and juice out of the fruit. However, I haven't figured out how to tell which direction it's going to go next (it's not a simple first time this way, next time that way), so when it decides to change, the machine jerks in the opposite direction of where you were expecting it to go. This operates in opposition to the force you are exerting on the side of the machine trying to keep it from moving. Again, hilarity ensues.
So, all in all, I am NOT impressed with this juicer. Unfortunately, it was the only one at the store. Perhaps another company will see the opportunity here and dare to make a juicer that does not have such an impressively compounded collection of design flaws.

The chute design was also annoying--it didn't work as intended, and once you lose the little plastic guard piece, it only serves to make a mess. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more on a processor that isn't being produced as cheaply as possible per Wal-Mart's requirements.

(More customer reviews)I am a long-standing Cusinart food processor fan for 25 plus years. I couldn't imagine my kitchen without it. So when I discovered this product, I was sure that this would be a time-efficient way to quickly chop an onion without having to use my big Cuisinart food processor. I was confident that it would uphold Cuisinart standards for food processing. NOT THE CASE. Chopping/slicing peppers or onions was completely impossible. Very little came out of the chute as most of the vegetables were turned into a mushy pureed substance trapped between the blade and the round housing. In addition, as soon as the motor is turned on, a burnt odor is emitted leading me to think that the motor is burning out. I do not recommend this product to anyone and I am shocked that Cuisinart would put their name on this piece of junk!

(More customer reviews)I bought this mixer online, and i couldn't have been more disappointed. It looks good in the picture, but everything about it is just a little bit wrong. This mixer drives me crazy! I wish i had bought any mixer but this.
First of all, it looks like a nice metal mixer with a metal bowl. Well, the bowl is metal, but the rest of it is just painted silver! It's just made of cheap plastic.
Second of all, the dial on the right with all the speeds on it: from the look of it, the mixer has several speeds, one for each number. However when you try to turn the knob, what you find is that it has three speeds- low, medium, and high. The numbers are there for decoration!
Then we come to the two metal mixing blades. One of them has an annoying plastic piece on the end that is always getting food stuck in it. I've had plenty of mixers that are designed well so that they don't have to have this hard-to-clean part. It gets food stuck on both the inside and the outside of the little plastic part on the end.
The bowl has two problems. (Well, there is a large and a small bowl, but they have the same problems.) The top edge of the bowl curls around the top to make a little lip. This is fine, but the lip is not actually closed! It's ALMOST closed. That means when food gets in there, it's almost impossible to clean out. Also, i got metal bowls because i thought i could use them for other things too- such as handy popcorn bowls. But the bottom of the bowls lock on to the mixer with pokey metal bits, so holding those metal bowls in your lap can be uncomfortable and snag your clothes!
This mixer does not have a lot of power for mixing heavy dough, and you can't turn it to a speed and walk away (you have to hold the bowl or the mix will pack up in the mixer blades) but I wouldn't expect those things from a mixer this price. So that part is fine.
However, those other things are all just design decisions. There are plenty of other mixers in this price range that don't do all those terrible things. Buy any mixer but this, really! This one is just a waste of money.

Oster 6873 14 Speed Blender Combination Food Processor Review

(More customer reviews)We bought this blender/food processor combo last month and after about a week on the second use of the food processor, noticed that the plastic latches that hold the lid on the food processor were broken. Amazon happily replaced the appliance. However, when unpacking the new items, the bottom of the food processor mechanism came off. We've promptly returned the second blender for a refund this time. I guess we'll look for another kind/brand.
