I bought this processor to replace my Hamilton Beach (a cheap, small sized $39 model I've had for a few years). My H.B. works fine, but I cracked the bowl and thought this would be a nice upgrade. I was wrong! The motor on this machine is not strong enough to process basic items. It was fine for salsa making. However, when I tried to make hummus the blade continues to pop off during processing. I then tried to grate cheese and not only did the disc come loose and make a crack in the bowl, the motor slowed down to the point where the machine stopped working. This was a regular block of cheddar, not even frozen! I then tried to slice carrots and celery. Not only were the slices totally not uniform in size, the motor was straining to slice them. My cheap little H.B. works better than this machine, and it only has a 325 watt motor. Don't waste your money on this, buy a Hamilton Beach or if you want high end, go with a Kitchen Aid.

KitchenAid Food Processor Citrus Press for 9 and 12-Cup Food Processor
Average Reviews:

I am unable to use the traditional citrus presses due to my hand problems so this is allows me the fresh juices I like. I have only used it on lemons and limes so far. It is very fast to set up, use and clean. I compared similar attachments for my stand mixer and those items take more effort to set up and clean. You get two sizes of cones to press into the pulp. No shape is going to be perfect but you can reposition your fruit if you feel your not getting all the juice out. I feel this does as well a job as either of my manual presses did with less effort. It is on the bulky side so it takes a lot of storage room but it is light.

Black & Decker Quick 'N Easy Plus Food Processor Review

Black and Decker Quick 'N Easy Plus Food Processor

First of all- sorry Amazon- but $42 is out of line for this product.
I know because I bought one yesterday locally.
I am taking it back today. I haven't even used it yet, but 2 of the design features really turned me off.
That food chute thing makes the lid very bulky and cumbersome and it is not removable.
You have to insert a little piece of plastic which acts as a "dam" to prevent the food from coming out the chute.
If you do use it- the opening where the sliced/shredded food exits is very narrow and prone to clogging. It even says it right in the manual.
So, if it clogs badly, there is a little piece of plastic that you have to *unscrew* to get off so you can clean it properly.
Excuse me- unscrew?
This is plastic. How many times do you think you will be able to do this before the plastic breaks?
One should never have to unscrew anything on an appliance to be able to take it apart for cleaning.
I guess you could use a bottle brush or something to clean it without unscrewing the plastic plate, but I just want to be able to throw it in the dishwasher, not stand there at the sink fiddling with it.
This device is more trouble than it's worth. I hate the food chute and will probably never use it.
And having to unscrew a part- what were they thinking?

Cuisinart CSB-77 SmartStick Hand Blender Review

Cuisinart CSB-77 SmartStick Hand Blender
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this product mainly for making soups. I hated having to put soup into the blender in bathces to puree it. Not only was this time consuming but I usually made a huge mess in the process. Well this product solved that problem for me. I made a soup the other day and used this product to blend the soup right in the pot! While I was nervous about "only" being able to run the blender continuously for 50 seconds, I learned that 50 seconds is more than enough time for this item to blend a whole pot of soup, in fact it only took about 15-20 seconds.
I have also used the grinder attachment to mince fresh parsley, and have also made a smoothie using the included measuring cup and blender.
Although the manual states that you cannot run this product for more than a certain amount of time (depending on the function), I have learned that this product can accomplish those tasks easily in the time frames given (it took 5 seconds to mince my parsley!).
I cannot comment on the warranty as I have not had a problem with this item, but for the price if it fails I would most likely just buy a new one.
My only complaint would be that the whisk attachment seems very flimsy, but I have not actually used the whisk attachment yet, so I assume that it will work just fine for light tasks such as whisking egg whites. Although based on the feel of it I would not use it for much else.
However, I have a feeling that I am going to continue to find uses for this wonderful little gadget. For the price this item is a great buy.

I have had a couple of mini-choppers, and this is head and shoulders superior. My previous products smashed things rather than chopping them. This little jewel creates perfectly chopped garlic and minced herbs. I plan to throw away my garlic press. Also it's low profile lets it fit into a very small space, yet it holds over 2 cups. I love it!

I purchased 6 of these in Sept of 2009. The handle design has changed (from 2008) and where the handle connects to the lid is now a weak point. out of the 6 that I purchased, 6 broke within the first day. I use these at work for "Salsa Days" and have 3 that we have used since 2008 that still work great. I would recommend against this brand as it is being sold right now...

Hamilton Beach 10 Cup Food Processor with Compact Storage Review

Hamilton Beach 10 Cup Food Processor with Compact Storage
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This past summer I bought the Hamilton Beach 10-Cup Food Processor for making home made salsa. I make it in very large batches, almost one gallon per batch, giving away some of it to friends or family. I like that the switch is on/off/pulse only, it works so quickly that I wouldn't want to set it to running and then walk away from it, only to find that my chopped onions or bell peppers are now liquefied- I only use it in pulse mode. The motor is very powerful and the chopping blade very aggressive; I have not had it bog down at all even when chopping onion and other dense vegetables. A friend bought the same machine on my recommendation and he's been very happy with it as well.

Oster FPSTFP4250 Stainless-Steel 500-Watt 11-Cup Wide-Mouth Food Processor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this food processor after doing a great deal of research on other more expensive brands and decided to settle on something middle of the road hoping I wouldn't be disappointed. Besides, I use my food processors so much that they typically only last a few years anyway. It does do what it's supposed to do which is process food, but the quirks in the design of the bowl are what I have concerns about. The handle is designed in such a way that water seeps into it while being washed and is difficult to remove. The shoot to put the food into is awkward to work with and is very difficult to clean. Now part of it is starting to crack at the top and I have only had it a few months. Big disappointment.
The motor has worked great and I happy with the attachments and their performance, but the bowl is the flaw in the whole design. And in my opinion, the bowl along with the motor is what makes or breaks a food processor and this bowl needs a little more design planning.
UPDATE: After using the processor to shred cheese; the disk bent making the shredding disk no longer useful. But I could still use the motor and other attachments. So I tried to process stale bread to make bread crumbs; the motor blew. If I could give this thing negative stars...I would.

Oster FPSTFP4600 Professional Stainless-Steel 10-Cup Food Processor with In-Bowl Storage
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been on the market for a food processor and was considering a smaller unit because I only need the processor for chopping/shredding. Then I found this unit at the local wal mart and liked it because of it's design. It is a 10 cup unit but it has a small footprint. The storage is very smart and the safety features DO NOT get in the way of processing. Now that I chose this unit, I started experimenting with other recipes which require dough. I was a little worried that the unit might be underpowered for dough but am happy to find that it will process dough without any problem. When I first tried dough I used the "mixer" method which is to make the base and then add flour until the dough ball couldn't hold any more flour. With the food process you start with dry ingredients and then 'drizzle' the water into the bowl until the dough ball is complete. Too much water and the dough gets sticky and stops the machine! So the slow drizzle method works perfectly and the machine handles it with no problem. Cutting and shredding work great and the large feed tube is just right. I like it and would buy it again.

Equipped with a whisper-quiet 450-watt induction motor, this powerful food processor helps save time and energy in the kitchen. Use it for making anything from garlic-infused dips, olive spreads, and pesto sauce to slicing veggies to toss into a green salad or shredding cabbage for coleslaw. The unit's 10-cup capacity work bowl accommodates large or small batches alike and offers a sealed design for processing liquids with confidence. Depending upon the job, select the stainless-steel S-shaped blade, the reversible shredding disc, the reversible 2mm/4mm slicing disc, or the dough blade. The machine also provides a full-size feed tube with a food pusher for safely adding ingredients, on/off buttons for simple operation - plus pulse for an extra burst of power when needed, a locking lid for added safety, and a handy spatula for scraping food from the sides of the bowl. The accessories neatly fit in the work bowl and the cord tucks away for compact storage when not in use. Housed in sleek-looking stainless steel with black accents, the food processor makes an attractive addition to any kitchen collection.

Cuisinart BFP-703R Blender & Food Processor, Duet Combination Review

Cuisinart BFP-703R Blender and Food Processor, Duet Combination
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was excited to get this Cuisinart a month or so ago because I love to cook, but I'm a college student who lives in an apartment. I don't have tons of space (or money, for that matter) to blow on two appliances. I have done many things with the SmartPower Duet, and it hasn't failed me yet. I've made deliciously smooth and thick shakes (including one with rum for a party - it was a hit.) I've made amazing salsa. I've made gazpacho. For some of these, I used the recipe book that comes with the machine. There are a lot of good recipes, indeed, but as an added bonus, the recipes give you helpful hints about how to use the appliance the best way - like, which ingredients to add first, instead of just shoving everything in.
Just last night I made a pasta salad with about twenty ingredients, most of which had to be chopped or minced or sliced, so I used the food processor with the chopper to pulverize the garlic and other spices into a nice smooth blend (thus avoiding the dreaded clumps of pungent garlic). Then, I took the spices out and added red and green peppers and other vegetables and chopped them up coarsely, like salsa. Then I put the slicer attachment on to the food processor and sliced perfectly thin slices of cucumber and red onion. I added this to some pasta, provolone cheese, and some olive oil, and voila, I had a great pasta salad in less than half of the time it would have taken me to prepare all of those veggies by hand.
I certainly haven't had any complaints about the workmanship. I love how it feels so sturdy without being bulky - the base is a little wider than most and not flimsy like most other blenders I've used, and the thick, glass blender jar is squat instead of tall and thin, which seems to make blending things a lot easier because the ingredients can easily move around near the blade. The keypad controls are enclosed so it's incredibly easy to clean up splatters and spills. The processor bowl doesn't seem to be flimsy to me (perhaps they've fixed the problem ?). In other words, this thing is great.

This is a very nice food processor. I bought it based on reviews of the more expensive models, and found it to be very good product. It has a very strong yet quiet motor that seems to handle jobs with ease. The 7 cup size is good for most typical food processing I do for my family of three. I can easily shred a full pound of cheese in the 7 cup bowl.
I was impressed with this product especially after seeing a new Black and Decker food processor that sounded like it was grinding rocks even with an empty bowl. This kitchen aid model appears to be very well built. It is definitely worth the $80.
The food processor comes with the base, 7 cup bowl, chopping blade, shredding/slicing blade, a "pole" for the shredding blade, and a spatula to help clean out the bowl.
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

I purchased this FP 4 1/2 years ago and it is still running strong. I have grated, diced, and mixed well over 1500 pounds of food and have yet to experience any problems.
Christmas, 2 years ago, I was making a dough that was so thick, the motor was barely going, even on the high setting. I was horrified to see smoke pouring out of the back of the stand, so I shut it off and figured that I had killed it for certain. Not so! After cooling down for half hour or so, it was up and running again as though nothing had happened.
I use this when I puree my pumpkin each fall. Over the course of 3 or 4 days, I generally do around 200-300 pounds of pumpkin and this FP has sailed through with out any problems. This includes running times into the hours. (4 or 5 hours at a time without any longer than a 30 second break between batches)
I have dropped it... it fell into a sink of water...it was in a box that fell down a flight of stairs... I have basically done anything and everything one would think would cause it to be destroyed and yet it just won't quit!
I would recommend this FP to anyone looking for a workhorse for a good price. I would be lost without mine and consider it the most important small appliance in my kitchen.

Hamilton Beach 70595 Big Mouth 14-Cup Food Processor with Bonus Blade Review

Hamilton Beach 70595 Big Mouth 14-Cup Food Processor with Bonus Blade
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I would have given if 4.5 stars if there was a choice for that. Some cleaning issues (see towards end below) detracted from 5 stars.
I've been using it almost daily for 6 months now and love it. I mainly use it to chop all kinds of vegetables, make pesto, chop garlic, and grate cheese. I picked it for is capacity, since I wanted to minimize my choping time by doing more at once. But, found its very easy cleanup and powerful motor a big bonus. I can fill it to the rim with onions, carrots, kale, what ever, and it is well designed to not only chop when the thing is full, but efficiently move the stuff so that it is chopped throughout, and not just at the bottom. You do have to fill it aleast to a minimum level for this action to work.
I though I should respond to that wildly negative feedback:
>1. It's well over a foot tall and very bulky, taking up ALOT of space. This thing is HUGE.
*well, it is not so huge, but it has a base about equal to the size of the container capacity. So, if you want to use less buy something else with less capacity.
>2. The cord is under the machine and wraps around manually underneath.
*who cares? I never fuble with the cord or wrap it around anything.
>3. The suction cups on the bottom sound like a good idea, but they're more of a pain.
*this is true. It would have been nice if the had a quick release feature. They hold very strong, which is needed sometimes because of its strong power jerks on pulse mode.
>4. I've tried pureeing with it several times. Unless it's filled to the max, it just pushes the food to the side and the blades chop air.
*probably an exaduration, but you do have put enough for the blades to work right. Probably midway is right. I puree tomatoes and pesto with no problem.
>5. I've used the slicing and shredding disks on potatoes, carrots and cheeses and am very disappointed.
*I agree. Slicing is adequate, but the shredding is poorly designed, where if you don't do it right you get chucks that whip around violently. It is controlable to get decent results if you work with it, though.
It is also good quality design. My main, if not only, con is there are some moving parts in the lid that are very hard to clean. It is relatively minor, but could have been done better.
For the price, I could find nothing close to this capacity and power.
Thought I should give back a detailed feedback since other's feedback has always been so helpful.
Well, hope this review helps you.
