(More customer reviews)The Magic Bullet 22 Piece with Bonus Travel/Storage Bag is a handy set of kitchen tools rolled into one motor base device. The initial concept of the product is ingenious, but the actual product is cheaply produced plastic with small tangs that will eventually break off rendering the unit less and less effective as time passes. The motor unit must be used as instructed or it will overheat and fail.
The mugs, and blender portion have small plastic tabs which lock it into the blade device, while the blade device loosely snaps into the motor base.
The reduced price and travel bag were the selling features for me. All 22 parts can be stored and remain clean, ready for use, while in the travel bag. The travel bag is quite large though and will require ample out of sight storage space.
Although the plastic parts are meant to be dishwasher safe, I do not recommend that they be washed in an automatic dishwasher due to the extremes in water hardness, detergents, and heat cycles, all of which are not standard throughout the planet. I strongly recommend hand washing of all plastic parts in mild dish soap and rack dry to preserve the integrity of the plastic parts.
Overall the unit will create all the dishes that are advertised on television, and possibly do a few more tasks that were not mentioned. Had the mating parts been made with a stainless locking band over the plastic, the longevity of the parts may have been extended, but since that is not the case, the usable lifetime of the plastic parts is dubious to say the least.
